If your vape product contains e-liquid, that liquid will be taxed based on volume.

That means:

• It doesn’t matter whether it’s strong or mild

• It doesn’t matter whether it contains nicotine or is nicotine-free
  

The duty is set at a flat rate of £2.20 per 10ml of vape liquid (£0.22 per ml), before VAT.

Which Vape Products Are Affected?

If there’s vape liquid inside, it’s included.

The tax applies to:

• E-liquids (including nicotine-free)
• Prefilled pods

Not included (on their own):

• Vape devices & batteries

• Chargers
